Highly distracting.

But highly adorable.

My lovely cousins came over today just as i was about to start my prep for my mid-year exams.

Clearly i took photos of them.

Clearly i wanted to edit them.

And clearly, now I’ve done barely any work.

At least this makes up for it:

Fact: Mr Jack is going to be a definite heart breaker.

And Charlie…wearing his hat backwards…riding a scooter. Love it.

Finally. Alex and Jack together.

Note: Do not be deceived, i had to take many pictures before i actually got this one.

So which one is your favourite? I think mine is the first one. I keep re-opening it up just to look at it some more. Love. It.

Hope you are all having lovely weekends.

Sylvia Plath {and the craziness that followed}

colour_1

colourclose_2

I am a grade 12 drama student, and last night was our moderation of our play which was worth 30% of my grade.

After five months of learning lines, blocking scenes, warm ups, warm downs, many tears, orange stage make up, lots of hairspray and costumes, it is over.

The play was about the poet, Sylvia Plath, ever hear of her? She wrote some of the most beautiful {and some of the strangest} poetry I have read.

Anyways, this week has just been so crazy with after school rehearsals {not to mention all day Sunday rehearsal} in which it all came down to these last two hours.

The nerves were terrible. My other four classmates, including Minnie Moo, and I sat in a room for twenty minutes in silence before it was time to go on stage.

Adrenaline kicked in and the two hours sped past. And now, I am left with the memories.

What. An. Experience.

“The window square whitens and swallows it’s dull stars, and now you try, your handful of notes: the clear vowels rise like balloons.”

Oh and the beautiful flowers in this post? My lovely drama teacher got us all a flower at the end of the night, how sweet is that? Which photo do you like best?

Simplistic.

IMG_1056

Most nights this week, I've climbed the stairs to my bedroom and been dazzled by this orange hue streaming through the upstairs window. Each of those nights, i stopped and looked but never captured it. Tonight, I did.

It was like the whole garden was on fire. The trees, the leaves, the grass was lit up by this luminous glow, that literally made me stare in awe. I actually took only four pictures, and uploaded them earlier and touched them up. However, these ones above are the originals..I like them better. They show the moment just how it was. Indescribable.

Such a simple moment on a simple Friday night. All week has been late nights at rehearsals or sport or study, and tonight i have stepped back and breathed for a bit.

I think so many days, we spend a lot of time aiming high and looking for big exciting moments. With all the time searching for these moments, we miss the simple. We miss what is right in front of our eyes. We over-look going home to a whole family, to a home, to another night, and another fiery sunset. I think we spend so much time looking for fragments of imperfections within our own lives that we forget what really is good, what really is amazing. And it’s easy to forget, yes, it is.

But then again, it’s so easy to remember, too.

I am so lucky.

Loving on you little one.

Was going through old albums tonight and found this.

A candid moment of little cousin/God son Charlie and I from January taken by Ms Ella.

Looking at this photo, i can just hear him laughing, from that radiant toothy smile he has going on.

I’m so glad this shot was taken, it’s made my night.

Loving on you little one, always loving on you.

Problem Solved.

emily_1

The blurriness of my pictures on this blog? Hopefully a thing of the past.

I downloaded LiveWriter and it’s worked a charm. It’s great :) I highly recommend it to everyone..

Anywho. This is just a quick post, and i had to chuck in that picture of Emily because i LOVE it, and my posts feel naked without a photo…

Ah well, don’t forget to stop by my formspring at www.formspring.me/ksphotoblog and ask anything.

Hope you have all had wonderful Monday’s.

A renovator's delight.

So we bought a house.

And we are renovating.

And it's hard work.

And it's gonna be so good when it's done.

But did i say it's hard work?

Here are some shots from our first go at renovating on Saturday.

This expression was accompanied by a thousand "what are yoooou doinggg?"

Everything is new again. A new smell, look and feel. But maybe that's a good thing. Maybe that's just what i need.

Oh and a side note: stop by my formspring and ask any questions at www.formspring.me/ksphotoblog.

Anyways, Happy Mother's day to all the mummy's around the world. What did you do for Mother's day or what are you going to do?

Umbrella kinda weather.

{ Before you read this, go to the bottom of the page and click play to the song..love love love and oh so fitting for this rainy post :) }

Whoever said high-school was the best years of your life, was quite obviously a compulsive liar.

Okay, I am being over-dramatic. I'm just tired.

This week has been never-ending, filled with evil teachers who obviously think it's quite enjoyable to see how many assignments they can put in one week... Yeah, we've got you figured out teachers.

Anyway. This week i did not pick up my camera..at all. Instead, i glared at it in it's case all week. Not fun.

Tonight, i picked it up again, and shot these lovely's in manual.

Which one is your favourite?

Fishy feeding.

The most beautiful part of photography?

Being able to make almost anything art. {Even feeding the pet fishy}

All shot in manual.

The above photos were not posed at all. This next one was. It makes me laugh.

Alex loving the camera;

Which one is your favourite? How do you go about catching candid moments?

I hope you are all having wonderful weekends..
